Hand Made + Tree Dyed Leather Backpack | Black Medium (Amsterdam)
Maker Saccoo has been hand-making their bags since 2005. Their mission is creating innovative & casual bags with an environmental approach.
The tanning process takes weeks to obtain the authentic look and get a slight two-tone effect which compliments its durability, casual outshine and unique patina. Because of these elements, each bag is an individual piece of craft, no two bags are the same.
They work with sustainable partners and provide fair wages, bonuses and health insurance and believe that developing long-term interests in commerce, culture and environment makes the egocentric world a little better.
what it is
Backpacks are vegetable-tanned. During the tanning process, special barks and juices of trees are given to the leather skins. These are then treated in a sunbath to intensify the colors. After this, the use of different polishes and oils guarantees a variety in colors and hand feel.
Inside is durable lining with leather trims on the compartments. Large slot for a tablet, slots for pens, phone, with one easy grab slot and one zip slot. The back has a zip compartment for cards/ID, pens, and 2 extra easy grab slots for our other important belongings. Everyday, everywhere you go - this bag is a classic style.
DISCLAIMER: Because these are tree dyed and hand-made, the leather is sensitive. Scuffs will occur which is part of its distressed look. Use all protectors seasonally to help protect it.

The vegetable-tanned leather is specially selected by the maker. Flaws/defects in the leather are deliberately not treated with chemicals. This means that dirt, etc. can easily penetrate into the leather. Before you use your bag, treat it several times with a good maintenance product. This to protect your bag from moisture, water droplets and rubbing of to clothing.
For maintenance, they recommend a leather care spray. After purchasing your bag maintain it with intervals of at least 1 hour 3 times.
